Blog Post 1

Blog Post 1

1. What are the things (if any) you have heard about EDM310?

I have only heard a few things about EDM310. I was told that one has to put extra time into this course and also that this class can be easy once one gets the hang of it.

2.What fears (if any) do you have about EDM310?

I was very intimidated when I first walked into EDM310 because I have never been one to do a blog. I also fear I will not finish an assignment due to the fact that I do not understand a project instructions.

3.Compare and Contrast EDM310 with other courses you have taken in college or high school.

I have only taken one computer class in high school and at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and those classes were the same. We had to do different projects using the different programs within Microsoft Office. These two classes are a lot different than EDM310 due to the fact of having to do an online blog.

4.What do you think will be the most difficult thing for you in EDM310?

The one thing I will struggle most with in EDM310 is writing, I am not a strong writer.
5.What is the best way for you to address the "most difficult" aspect of EDM310?

The best thing I can do to address the most difficult aspect of EDM310 for me, is to take my time with each assignment and take deep breathes. I will get through this course!

6.What questions do you still have about EDM310? What ideas do you have about how to address those questions?

How do blogs actually work?

What are the difference between blog post and projects? Are these two things due at different times? If so, Will you tell us when?

I will simply ask Dr.Strange these questions by calling him or asking him in class.

  1. Hey Jerica Baker!

I share some of the same concerns as you when it comes to this course. I have never even read a blog before this course, and now I have to actually have a blog and use it effectively!! I have been nervous about the course since I found that out, and I'm sure there are a lot of students that have a slightly better start than me considering my lack of experience with blogs. I do like your attitude though! "I will get through this course!" And you are right, it will take some deep breaths! As a side note, I saw that you went to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Are you originally from MS or did you commute there? I ask because my hometown is in MS.

I know that one of your fears is not understanding a project instructions. Feel free to talk to Dr. Strange or any of the EDM310 assistants. They are there for us! They can answer any questions about the projects. You could also check out some of the previous student blogs, but be careful not to get too attached to their ideas because of possible plagiarism. I was also worried about not being able to figure out my blog or html. I searched on Google to figure out how to change my font and color, and I'm sure there are a lot of other things I can search for! We just have to look for it! You can delve into the many layers of links from the instruction manual provided by Dr. Strange. I found out how to insert a link here.

Good luck on your blog and the journey through this course!

    1. I'm from the Pearl/Brandon area right outside of Jackson. I mainly did drama in high school. All of our relatives on both sides of our family still lives there, so we visit several times a year. I was glad to help! There is a LOT of other information in all of the information Dr. Strange supplies us. It just takes a lot of delving.

      Thanks for reading my comment!

    2. Oh, Jerica. I forgot to mention something about your blog! Remember you need to have a photo or video on every blog entry.

Sorry for this info being delayed!
